Job Description
The goal of Material Development Plastics is laying the foundation of innovation for the Business Area - Original Equipment Solutions (OESL) to be the leader for highly developed, intelligent and sustainable plastic products for the automotive industry as the best solutions for each of our customers in each of our markets. Task of the Material Developer Plastics (m/f/d) is the development of new technologies with special focus on polymer based compound materials. This goal is achieved by an effective execution and management of R&D projects.
The tasks will focus on the following acitivities:
1. Development of new plastic materials from internal and external sources as basis for product development to ensure technology leadership of OESL in the area of plastics components
2. Transforming product requirements into material requirements and specifications for internal and external suppliers
3. Innovating and/or creating solutions to support our corporate sustainability strategy
4. Follow market on technical development
5. Acting and inspiring colleagues to challenge the status quo in order to create sustainable solutions
6. Organizing and performing material releases (internal and at the customer)
7. Supporting material analysis of field damage parts with focus on plastics
8. Following PLC regulations to ensure defined process / IATF
9. Concept evaluation, DVP&R, FMEA, Tolerance stack-up, Pareto Search and Risk Analysis
10. Leading material development projects
Qualifications
11. Completed Degree in the field of Chemistry or Materials Science, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering
12. Several years experience on job in the area of Engineering/Development in plastics material, product and/or process development
13. Experience in Automotive Industry
14. Business-fluent English skills (written and spoken)
15. Good German skills (written and spoken)
16. Excellent analytical skills and solution-oriented, proactive way of working
17. Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
18. Project Management skills
19. Passion for Plastic Products
20. Willingness to travel (10%)
