Job Description
Summary
We are seeking experienced Rail Vehicle Engineers to play a key role in the maintenance, design, inspection, and modernization of rail vehicles throughout Germany. This position is critical to ensuring the safety, performance, and regulatory compliance of locomotives, passenger coaches, metro cars, and freight wagons in alignment with German and European engineering standards. The ideal candidate will contribute to the lifecycle management of rolling stock by delivering technical excellence, driving reliability improvements, and supporting innovation in rail transport systems.
Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostics, and technical evaluations of rail vehicles
* Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
* Support design enhancements, component upgrades, and system integration projects
* Develop and maintain technical documentation, maintenance schedules, and compliance reports
* Ensure all engineering activities adhere to DIN / ISO standards and EU safety regulations
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and quality engineers
* Investigate technical issues and implement data-driven solutions to enhance system reliability and performance
* Participate in testing, commissioning, and certification processes for new or refurbished rail vehicles
Requirements
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Rail Engineering, or a related field (Anabin H+)
* Minimum 5 years of experience in rail vehicle engineering, rolling stock maintenance, or railway systems
* In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, braking systems, traction motors, bogies, and vehicle control units
* Proven experience working with DIN / ISO standards
* Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and engineering standards documentation
* Hands-on experience with maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety protocols
* German language level B2 (mandatory)
* Willingness to travel and work across Germany as required by project demands
