Key Responsibilities
* Contributing to requirement definition for structural systems and sub-systems
* Defining preliminary architecture and design, including pre-sizing and the anticipated manufacturing methods
* Working with mechanical performance and production engineers to refine the design, expected performance, and manufacturability
* Coordinating with other system owners to ensure smooth integration
* Documenting acceptance and qualification criteria
* Providing active support and supervision during manufacturing and testing phases to ensure an efficient development process
Basic Qualification
* Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field
* 2–3 years of relevant experience in mechanical design
* Experience with carbon-fiber composite materials, including sizing principles, failure modes, and manufacturing processes
* Experience performing finite element analysis with composite material data
* A proactive mindset with a strong drive for continuous improvement
* A pragmatic approach to development, with the ability to adapt to program constraints
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Fluency in English
Desired Experience
* Design and sizing of sandwich structures
* Practical experience with prepreg systems and composite robotic manufacturing (filament winding or automated fiber placement)
* Use cases and limitations of NDI technologies
* Proficiency with NX
