Hauptaufgaben Serves as Training Technician (O/A) responsible for providing scheduling, facility control, maintenance and administrative functions in support of the LTA operations. Coordinates and maintains training area and facility scheduling management for several training facilities, training sites, small arms ranges, simulators, and classrooms, which make up the Wiesbaden Finthen Local Training Area (LTA). Ensures that scheduling of facilities is properly managed to de-conflict reservations from double bookings, co-uses, and facility are available when reserved. Receives scheduling requests for LTA facilities, and small arms ranges through the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) and confirms or rejects requests based upon availability of facility. Assists unit commanders and trainers in formulating their training plans based upon facility capability. Ensures that proper scheduling procedures are followed and resolves scheduling conflicts between requesting units as necessary to satisfy unit training needs. Provides units with an up-to-date daily and weekly scheduling calendars to ensure units are aware of scheduled facilities. Briefs units conducting training in the LTA about facility capabilities, safety hazards, regulatory requirements, Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), and administrative procedures to be followed. Conducts maintenance and safety inspections of ranges, and training facilities. Provides tours of LTA facilities for VIPs, commanders, and other interested personnel as required. Assists in establishing and maintaining a range certification program, including maintaining rosters for the Officer in Charge (OIC) and Range Safety Officer (RSO). Maintains current listing of personnel trained and authorized to operate the Combat Pistol Qualification Course (CPQC), and other assigned small arms training simulator or range system. Updates all rosters as changes occur. Verifies OIC and RSO certification and issues range/facility operating packets, training aids, and facility keys to unit trainers. Reviews range and facility use journals to ensure completeness and correctness. Inventories all training aids for accountability and serviceability after completion of training and ensures that units are properly relieved of responsibility for training facilities and equipment. Maintains sufficient on-hand supplies of required training aids, range/facility operating packets, instructional material, task booklets, etc. for units utilizing training facilities. Collects information, consolidates data, and prepares statistical reports concerning the LTA (e.g., LTA weekly bulletins, and monthly and quarterly utilization reports). Prepares information packets upon request for the supervisor. Consolidates and prepares training statistics for VIP briefings and as required by higher headquarters. 2. Performs various administrative duties pertaining to the operation of the Local Training Area. Receives, screens, and records all incoming correspondence and distributes as needed. Maintains all suspense files for the LTA Branch and keeps the LTA Supervisor informed on suspense requirements. Establishes and maintains internal filing system for the range operations office. 3. Utilizing office automation systems, inputs a variety of narrative and tabular training related material (e.g. statistical data, reports, technical papers, charts, messages, general correspondence, and other documentation) involving common and technical training terminology and requiring accuracy in spelling, grammar, and syllabification. Work is performed either in draft or final form. Refers to dictionaries, technical manuals, field manuals, research reports, and/or similar material as reference tools to facilitate assignments. Is responsible for assuring correct formats, spacing arrangements, and preparation of typed material in final form as prescribed by pertinent field manuals. Uses own judgement regarding form and arrangement of statistical or tabular material involving numerous headings and sub headings and style of presentation. 4. Maintenance: Performs operator level maintenance on devices, simulators, target systems, training areas and facilities, to include trimming of vegetated areas during the growing season, snow removal, and training systems pre-operational calibration and post-operational maintenance checks and services. Diagnoses malfunctioning device parts and turns them into the proper repair facility. Conducts before and final inspections of areas and facilities to ensure operability for the next unit. Submits service orders to DPW for maintenance beyond operator upkeep/repair. Performs other duties as assigned. Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below. E&T Level II: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 1 year of experience as defined in B below. E&T Level III and above: No additional experience required. Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade. Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc. Experience B: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled. * Qualified typist required. * Driver's license class B required and incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a government driver's license to operate non-tactical vehicle/transportation motor pool (NTV/TMP).
