Senior Legal Counsel
Location: Berlin or Dusseldorf
Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support commercial operations across a dynamic, international business. This role combines high-level legal advisory with hands-on contract work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
* Advise sales, management, and business units on commercial legal matters (B2B).
* Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts (sales, services, works), including infrastructure and public sector projects.
* Bridge legal requirements with business objectives to deliver practical, commercially sound solutions.
* Ensure compliance with competition, antitrust, trade, and data protection laws.
* Assess legal and commercial risks and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
* Represent the legal function internally and externally, leading negotiations with third parties.
* Manage and coordinate litigation, arbitration, and disputes with external counsel.
Requirements:
* Qualified lawyer with full legal training (e.g. two state exams or equivalent).
* Strong expertise in commercial and contract law (B2B); solid knowledge of public procurement, competition, and regulatory frameworks.
* Experience in areas such as anti-corruption, product liability, or health & safety is advantageous.
* At least 5 years’ relevant professional experience, ideally in an international company or similar environment.
* Good understanding of industrial/business operations and technical products.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
* High commercial awareness and sound judgement.
* Fluent in German and English.
* Team-oriented, proactive, and willing to travel occasionally.
