What are your tasks?
As part of our three-person DevOps team, you'll work closely with around 25 colleagues from product development, spread across four product-oriented mission teams. Together, you'll operate and develop a platform that enables our product teams to deliver modern web applications reliably, securely, and with high performance. Your focus will be on stable infrastructure, efficient CI/CD processes, automation, and a positive developer experience.
* You will support our developers in the continuous integration and delivery of our products through automated infrastructure provisioning, permission management, high-performance CI/CD pipelines, and deployment setup.
* You will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our server and cluster infrastructure.
* You establish and monitor processes for the proactive maintenance and updating of third-party components.
* You ensure that our infrastructure is reliably recoverable. To achieve this, you develop and document scalable backup and restore strategies and validate them regularly through testing and automation.
* You will design and improve business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for our critical platforms and services.
* You implement compliance requirements regarding data retention and deletion, encryption, and secret management.

What are you bringing?
* You bring relevant professional experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer and you care deeply about the reliability, performance and security of web applications.
* Fluent German skills, both spoken and written (at least C1 level).
* You have sound knowledge of server and Kubernetes cluster administration.
* You have good knowledge of cloud and system architectures.
* You have experience in containerizing applications in various programming languages and frameworks, in our case: Rails and Next.js.
* You have experience in defining CI/CD pipelines.
* You have a good understanding of observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting methods for operating web applications.
* Our work requires intensive communication with your colleagues. Therefore, you should be communicative and a team player.
* We do a lot of work through pairing – whether remotely or in the office. You should feel comfortable working with other people simultaneously and explaining results.
