Overview
SRAM is seeking a creative and motivated Industrial Designer with Senior level design-work experience to join our German design team. This designer will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge mountain bike drivetrain and e-MTB components, fueling innovation and influencing design projects around the world.This position is located in SRAM's Mountain Bike development center in Schweinfurt, Germany.
Responsibilities
1. Quickly generate ideas and concepts, which reflect your outstanding visualization skills, a refined sense of form and your understanding of human factors
2. Translate user needs into compelling products
3. Deliver solid and rational ergonomics for best physical performance
4. Build compelling stories to communicate design direction to your design team members and the larger product development team
5. Coordinate finish, graphics and finish engineering with design team partners to meet defined requirements
6. Design for manufacturing: create CAD geometry ready for forging, die-casting, injection molding, and machining processes
7. Work with Design Engineers directly on CAD models to configure and package engineering concepts into the most compelling products in the industry
8. Ensure on-time delivery of solutions that meet product development timelines
9. Work effectively in a cross-functional environment with teammates that include Product Management, Design Engineering and Advanced Design
10. Support MarCom and PM product launches and presentations with applicable materials
11. Help to further refine ID workflow processes to enhance the product development process
12. Actively contribute to building an even stronger team with a positive attitude and openness to give and receive constructive feedback
Qualifications
13. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or equivalent from an accredited university
14. Application requires a portfolio with work examples
15. Clear proficiency of Senior Designer level work and relevant experience working in cross-functional product development teams
16. Proficiency in English and German
17. Proficient at 3D CAD (Pro-E/Creo preferred)
18. Ability to travel domestically and internationally to work with a global team — approximately 15% travel
