Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Operations & Manufacturing Technician to join our Operations Centre near Tübingen. The role involves assembly, testing, packaging, shipping, and procurement activities to support daily production of IoT Devices such as data loggers. This is a key role in ensuring that our customers receive reliable, high-quality products on time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing & Assembly
• Assemble sub-assemblies and components into complete data logger devices according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Wire sensors to Industrial connectors, ensuring correct insulation, routing, and secure connections.
• Maintain assembly tools and workspace in an organized and safe manner.
2. Testing & Quality Control
• Perform functional testing of devices to verify compliance with product specifications.
• Record test results, identify defects, and perform troubleshooting where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality control standards and escalate recurring issues to engineering.
3. Packaging & Shipping
• Package finished devices securely, applying appropriate labelling and documentation.
• Prepare and manage shipping documents, including those required for dangerous goods shipments (lithium batteries).
• Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery to customers.
4. Procurement & Inventory Management
• Procure and track incoming materials, components, and equipment.
• Work with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure sufficient stock for daily production needs.
5. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain production logs, inventory records, and test reports.
• Support audits and compliance checks as required (e.g., CE, ISO9001).
• Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
• Technical diploma or equivalent experience in electronics, electromechanics, or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in assembly, testing, or production of electronic devices.
• Experience with wiring, soldering, and use of measurement equipment (multimeters, test rigs, etc.).
Skills & Competencies
• Strong technical and mechanical assembly skills.
• Understanding of quality control processes and testing procedures.
• Basic knowledge of logistics, packaging, and international shipping documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight schedules.
• Good communication skills
in English and German
• Experience in SAP Business One ERP system - advantage
Other Requirements
• Familiarity with handling and shipping lithium batteries and dangerous goods (training will be provided if needed).
