Principal Radar Hardware Engineer

The Opportunity: Principal Radar Hardware Engineer
This is a full-time, on-site
role where you will be the technical lead for all radar hardware development. The Principal Radar Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the architecture, design, and validation of the physical radar system components, ensuring maximum performance and reliability.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Hardware Architecture:
Lead the technical definition and design of the core radar hardware, including
RF, Microwave, and Millimeter-Wave
sub-systems.
* Component Design:
Oversee the full lifecycle development of key hardware components (e.g.,
Transmitter/Receivers, Antenna Arrays, T/R Modules, and High-Speed PCBs
).
* Collaboration:
Work directly with the Systems and Digital Signal Processing teams to define hardware interfaces and ensure seamless integration of the entire radar system.
* Testing & Validation:
Define and execute rigorous
Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)
, environmental, and performance testing.
* Technical Authority:
Serve as the subject matter expert, providing mentorship and driving best practices for design-for-manufacturability and test.
Qualifications
* Deep Expertise in RF/Microwave Hardware Design
for radar or communication systems.
* Experience in Antenna Theory and Design
(especially Phased Arrays or AESA) and high-speed analog/digital circuit design.
* Background in Electrical Engineering
(B.S. or M.S. required).
* Expertise with industry-standard RF simulation tools (e.g.,
CST, Keysight ADS
) and laboratory equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, VNAs).
* Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills
applied to complex hardware integration challenges.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead technical reviews and document complex designs.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, driving technical consensus.
* Experience in the
defense industry or radar technology
is a significant plus.
