Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

The Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical will be part of the Quality & Commissioning team, supporting the inspection, verification, and documentation of mechanical systems to ensure installations meet project specifications and are fully prepared for structured transition into commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all mechanical commissioning and mechanical completion activities are carried out safely, with health and safety maintained as the highest priority across all stakeholders
* Develop and support project-specific Commissioning Implementation Plans, ensuring alignment with overall commissioning requirements and project objectives
* Conduct site inspections of mechanical, BAS/BMS, and MEP installations to verify compliance with project specifications, standards, and programme requirements
* Maintain a strong understanding of mechanical systems and monitor installation progress to ensure alignment with specifications, sequencing, schedules, and LOTO / permit-to-work procedures
* Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, including progress monitoring, resource planning, reporting, and participation in project meetings
* Support commissioning delivery and quality control activities, including QA/QC walkdowns, system checks, documentation reviews, punch list management, and close-out of outstanding items
* Assist in ensuring systems are mechanically complete and ready for formal commissioning, testing, and handover activities
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Demonstrated experience in mechanical commissioning, ideally within data centre, mission-critical, industrial, or complex building environments
* Knowledge of recognised commissioning standards such as ASHRAE, BSRIA, or equivalent industry frameworks
* Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, reporting, and communication skills
* Relevant commissioning certification such as Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or equivalent preferred
* Safety certification such as OSHA or equivalent health and safety qualification preferred
* Sustainability or energy-related credentials (such as LEED) beneficial but not essential
