We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Technical Writer to drive the creation and improvement of documentation for advanced AI products. In this role, you will manage documentation workflows, create technical reference materials, diagrams, and guides, and mentor other writers on best practices. You will work closely with developers and product teams, using developer tools like Git, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms to understand and document complex systems. You will contribute to automation and tooling improvements while fostering a culture of technical excellence in writing. The position combines hands-on documentation work with leadership and strategic oversight. Accountabilities: Lead and manage technical writing for AI products, ensuring clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation. Maintain and prioritize the documentation backlog, creating new content for features and changes as they are introduced. Mentor and coach other technical writers, providing guidance on best practices and content strategy. Develop reference materials, diagrams, and how-tos to support practitioner learning and adoption. Improve documentation architecture and implement enhancements to the docs platform. Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and engineers to accurately capture workflows and processes. Leverage developer tools, including Git, CLIs, Docker, cloud platforms, and Terraform, to produce precise and relevant content. Requirements Minimum 6 years of experience as a technical writer, with at least 1 year in a lead or mentoring role. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly. Experience analyzing information architecture and restructuring content for clarity and usability. Proficiency with Markdown and developer tools such as Git, command line interfaces, Docker, and GitHub. Familiarity with containers, virtual machines, and public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle). Ability to create visual resources and diagrams to enhance comprehension and learning. Self-starter with ownership mentality, capable of diving into technical features independently. Comfortable working in a remote-first environment and collaborating across distributed teams. Passion for learning new technologies and exploring innovative approaches to technical writing.
