Senior Software Engineer – Founderful

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our mission‑driven team in Berlin. Your role will be pivotal in building an innovative geospatial data platform that helps make nature the #1 stakeholder for businesses.
Your mission: At Nala Earth, you will help build a comprehensive geospatial data platform, fuse vast datasets into a unified, robust foundation, and develop backend async runtimes in Rust, event‑driven architectures, machine learning, and large language models.
Daily responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain critical platform components across the full stack – from infrastructure to frontend interfaces, databases to internal scientific tooling. Build efficient ETL pipelines, handle large‑scale data processing and integrations, improve MCP interfaces, collaborate with product and commercial teams, and lead backend initiatives.

Qualifications:
* Experience building backend async runtimes in Rust and exposure to event‑driven architectures
* Willingness to lead backend initiatives and collaborate with cross‑functional teams
* Experience with machine learning, large language models, or building MCP servers is advantageous
* Knowledge of geospatial data processing (Python tools such as Rasterio, Xarray, GeoPandas, Polars, Shapely) and geospatial embeddings is valuable
Tech stack:
* Frontend – SvelteKit, Typescript, D3, MapLibre
* Backend – Rust with Axum, georust ecosystem, Postgres, AWS SQS
* Cloud – AWS, Terraform, Terragrunt
* ML frameworks and LLM APIs for data analytics integration
