Starting as soon as possible our Department Knowledge Exchange and Outreach (KEO), Team Training located in Mannheim, is looking for a
Student Research Assistant
(13,98 € / 14,87 € hourly rate, 40 hrs./ month, temporary)
The task of the department is to continuously develop and optimize the broad range of services and concepts to effectively transfer research findings and survey methods know-how to the scientific community and to the society. The team Training organizes the scientific training program in social research methods for researchers from the social sciences and neighboring disciplines. Current topics are covered by compact workshops as well as longer, modular seminars. The advertised position is part of the BMFTR-funded KODAQS project. With this project, GESIS, together with the University of Mannheim and LMU Munich, will create a data compe-tence center for the social sciences that will provide researchers with the necessary skills to assess, pro-cess, and analyze social science data.
Your tasks will be:
* Support in the preparation and implementation of courses in the field of social science data quality using innovative learning methods in our KODAQS Academy (e.g., preparation of interactive teaching materials)
* Support of and collaboration in team members’ research projects in social and computational social sciences (mostly with a focus on data quality)
* Support in communicating project results (e.g., creating reports, blog posts)
Your profile:
* Social science studies (psychology, sociology, political science, computational science)
* Good knowledge of quantitative (survey-)research methods and statistics
* Sound knowledge of a statistics program (e.g., R, Stata, or Python)
* Very good knowledge of MS Office and reference management software (e.g., Zotero)
* Very good English proficiency
* German language proficiency (at least B1) is desirable
* Experience with AI/LLMs is desirable
* Experience with analyzing text data is desirable
