Bystronic Rofin. High-tech laser solutions for global markets.
In this role, you will join our Bystronic Rofin team. You will join us in creating outstanding technology solutions in the medical technology, semiconductor, and general manufacturing markets such as micro material processing, marking, welding, engraving, and drilling.
What you will be doing
* Building a high-performing, technically excellent team of Technical Product Owners that ensures clear definition, market-oriented development, and efficient integration of laser-based subsystems, while serving as the technical and organizational bridge between customer requirements, technology development, and successful product realization
* Establishing, leading, and continuously developing the TPO team both technically and disciplinarily
* Ensuring an efficient and scalable operating model for product planning and prioritization
* Fostering a product-oriented, collaborative, and agile working culture, as well as technical excellence and innovation within the team
* Taking overarching responsibility for the roadmaps of laser subsystems (e.g. beam sources, optics, electronics, controls)
* Validating technical solution approaches, requirements, and designs
* Coordinating with system architecture, development, manufacturing, and quality departments
* Collaborating closely with Product Management, Engineering leads, Sales, Service, and Operations
* Translating customer and market requirements into clearly structured subsystem backlogs
* Facilitating technical decision-making and prioritization conflicts
* Regularly communicating progress, risks, and dependencies
* Advancing agile methodologies in hardware and laser development
* Establishing clear criteria for requirements management, Definition of Ready/Done, and quality processes
* Optimizing interfaces between subsystem teams and overarching programs
* Taking over the Technical Product Owner role for selected key systems
* Analyzing technological trends and derive strategic implications.
Your education & experience
* Extensive experience in laser or photonics technology (development of lasers, optomechanics, electronics, controls) based on a technical degree
* Several years of experience in product development or systems engineering of complex hardware subsystems
What you need to succeed
* Strong expertise in requirements management and agile product leadership roles, including experience working with agile frameworks
* Knowledge of systems engineering, architecture methods, and validation processes
* Several years of leadership experience (technical or disciplinary)
* Strong facilitation and decision-making skills, conflict resolution ability, negotiation confidence, and empathy
* Excellent communication skills and experience in stakeholder management
