We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded HR professional to lead the people agenda across Europe, with primary responsibility for Germany and the UK.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this standalone role offers the opportunity to act as a trusted advisor to leaders, drive cultural alignment and support organisational growth within an Australian-owned global business employing approximately 650 people worldwide.
Working closely with colleagues across Europe, Australia, North America and Asia-Pacific, you will play a key role in building leadership capability, managing organisational risk and supporting the successful integration of future acquisitions.
This role will suit someone who thrives in a highly autonomous environment and enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary HR partner for leaders and employees across Europe, with primary responsibility for Germany and the UK.
* Build trusted relationships and provide practical, commercially focused HR advice.
* Coach and develop leaders to strengthen people capability and leadership effectiveness.
* Lead employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary processes, investigations and performance management activities.
* Support recruitment and onboarding activities across Europe.
* Champion organisational culture, engagement and company values.
* Support organisational change, business integration and future acquisition activities.
* Oversee payroll activities in partnership with external providers.
* Maintain compliance with employment legislation and company policies, with particular focus on Germany and the United Kingdom.
* Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Wellbeing standards across European locations, including office-based and remote workers.
* Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple countries, cultures and time zones.
About You
You are an experienced HR professional who combines strong technical capability with exceptional influencing skills and sound commercial judgement. You are comfortable operating independently, building trusted relationships and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
You will bring:
* Significant experience in a standalone HR Manager, Senior HR Business Partner or equivalent role.
* Strong knowledge of German employment law and HR practices.
* Strong practical understanding of UK employment law, employee relations processes and ACAS principles.
* Demonstrated experience coaching and influencing leaders.
* Experience managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
* Strong stakeholder management, communication and relationship-building skills.
* A global mindset and the ability to work effectively across different cultures and business environments.
* Experience supporting organisational change, cultural transformation or acquisition integration would be highly regarded.
* Relevant HR qualification and/or equivalent experience.
* Fluent English language skills are essential.
* German language capability is strongly preferred.
