The Logistics- Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material, requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material.
2. Arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules, with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments.
3. Examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified.
4. Compile report of quantity and type of material on hand, move or transport material from one department to another, using hand or industrial truck.
5. Monitor and provide supply support.
6. Analyze the Authorized Project Stockage Levels (APSL)
7. Recommend revision of stockage level in support of Mission, Type, and Design Series (MDS) specific fleets.
8. Expedite the flow of material, parts and assemblies between departments in accordance with production schedules.
9. Ensure proper logistics support is maintained and problems identified
10. Plans, coordinates and evaluates logistics support functions.
11. Coordinates information received, and materials issued and received from various activities and sites concerning logistics operations.
12. Coordinates day-to-day logistics operations within the theatre of operations as assigned.
13. Orders, receives, store, issues, turns-in, and distributes all incoming shipments from vendors
14. Maintains appropriate records and inventory
OTHER or ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
15. May monitor and control movement of material and parts along conveyor system, using remote-control panel board, compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes and using adding machine.
16. May compile perpetual production records in order to locate material in process of production, using manual or computerized system and maintain employee records.
17. Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
18. Must have current US Passport
19. Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related federal and state legislation and regulations.
20. Knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft applications ( Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
21. Strong analytical and organizational skills to oversee operations of the logistics organization.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
22. High school education, associate degree a plus.
23. Specialized training courses in Logistics/Material Coordination is desirable.
24. Five years of aviation maintenance supply experience.
25. At least one-year experience in planning and leading logistics management.
26. Must have experience with establishing US Army logistics management program.
27. Candidates must be eligible for employment under host nation laws and must meet all host nation requirements for the advertised position.
28. Must be able to Read, Write and Communicate effectively in English
29. Generally, works in normal office environment, but may be require to travel on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions.
