Your Role As a mission‑driven Senior Software Engineer based in Berlin, you will lead the development of our innovative geospatial data platform, ensuring that nature becomes the #1 stakeholder for businesses. Your Mission You will design, build, and maintain a comprehensive geospatial platform that fuses vast datasets into a unified foundation. Your work will drive the integration of machine learning and large language models to turn raw environmental data into actionable insights. Experience & Qualifications Experienced in building backend async runtimes in Rust and event‑driven architectures. Will lead backend initiatives and collaborate cross‑functionally. Strong background in ML and large language models, with experience in environmental data processing. Familiarity with building MCP servers or working with geospatial embeddings. Exposure to frontend technologies (SvelteKit, Typescript, D3, MapLibre) and backend stack (Axum, Postgres, AWS SQS). Comfortable with Python geospatial tools (Rasterio, Xarray, GeoPandas, Polars, Shapely) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, Terragrunt). Responsibilities Develop and maintain critical platform components across the full software stack – infrastructure, frontend, databases, and scientific tooling. Build efficient ETL pipelines and large‑scale data processing integrations. Design and improve MCP interfaces for AI systems and external tools. Collaborate with product and commercial teams to craft new features and deliver insights. Contribute to strategic decisions shaping the product vision and technical direction.
