General Manager Central Europe/ Geschäftsführer (M/W)

Germany, Austria and The Netherlands

Reporting to the Managing Director DACH & Eastern Europe


Job responsibilities


Your Missions

Business

* Define, execute, and monitor the regional business plan in alignment with global objectives.
* Implement the global brand strategy through sales, merchandising, training, marketing, and trade relationships.
* Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities across markets and channels (retail, wholesale, travel retail, e-commerce).
* Build and maintain strong collaboration with central and global stakeholders.
* Lead cross-functional initiatives to strengthen operational excellence and customer experience.

Sales & Distribution

* Manage product availability through accurate forecasting and stock planning to fulfil local market needs.
* Develop and sustain excellent relationships with retailers, wholesalers, and independent accounts.
* Negotiate commercial terms, drive business growth, and ensure brand visibility at the point of sale.
* Conduct regular business reviews with partners, presenting strategy, launches, and incentive programmes.
* Assess current distribution and identify potential new opportunities, including store openings and closures.
* Lead and coach the retail organization across the region, ensuring sales excellence and customer focus.
* Monitor sales performance, provide regular reporting, and ensure achievement of sell-in and sell-out targets.
* Manage budgets within sales, marketing, incentives, and operational expenses.
Oversee CRM and clienteling initiatives to strengthen customer loyalty and retention.

Brand Development

* Deploy marketing and trade marketing plans in line with global direction.
* Enhance brand awareness and visibility in the Central Europe area (Germany, Austria and the Netherlands).
* Act as a true brand ambassador with retailers, press, influencers, VIPs, and strategic partners.
* Support the development of Aftersales business and strengthen customer service excellence.
* Ensure a consistent brand image across all touchpoints, including retail and digital presence.
* Collaborate with central teams on PR, media, and social media activations tailored to local markets.

Leadership & People Management

* Lead, inspire, and develop multicultural teams across the region.
* Foster a high-performance culture and ensure succession planning and talent development.
* Provide clear objectives, monitor results, and recognize performance.
* Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer-centricity.
* Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance standards, and ethical business practices.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to anticipate opportunities and risks.
* Provide regular reporting and recommendations to global management.
* Analyse performance against KPIs and propose action plans for continuous improvement.
* Stay alert to regulatory, economic, and geopolitical factors impacting the business.


Profile


Profile

* Bachelor's degree required, master's degree in business, management, or related field a strong asset.
* Significant senior leadership experience in the luxury goods industry (watch and jewellery preferred).
* Proven track record in managing multi-country responsibilities, ideally within Central Europe.
* Strong P&L management experience with demonstrated business growth and profitability results.
* Experience in retail and wholesale management, including store openings, account negotiations, and network development.
* Experience in talent development, succession planning, and building high-performance cultures.
* Strong analytical and business acumen with proven ability to translate strategy into execution.
* Ability to identify market opportunities and anticipate risks in complex, evolving environments.
* Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
* Fluent in English and German proficiency.
