We are looking for a Business Continuity Expert (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Business continuity Expert to join our CISO team in our regulated institute that is subject to DORA. This role will support the development and improvement of our Business Continuity Management System, collaborate with teams to strengthen IT resilience, and contribute to planning and recovery initiatives. You will work closely with internal colleagues to help shape strategies for organizational resilience and participate in projects focused on business continuity and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
* Sustain and further develop the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), with a particular focus on regulated entities in Europe, following a risk-based approach that aligns with organizational objectives.
* Conduct and lead Business Impact Analysis (BIA) activities to determine potential business impacts, recovery objectives, protection requirements, and identification of critical resources.
* Support business and support functions in ensuring business and IT resilience, and recovery strategies are both effective and compliant.
* Provide management reporting on findings, conduct trend analyses to inform strategic decisions, and support regulatory reporting obligations.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to discuss, track, and oversee the implementation of mitigation plans.
* Ensure compliance with internal and external BCMS requirements, including ISO 22301, GDPR, and other relevant industry standards.
* Plan and lead third-party exercises related to business continuity and disaster recovery, particularly in the context of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
* Provide active support to crisis management processes by facilitating effective coordination, communication, and decision-making; ensure that crisis response plan is up-to-date collaboratively with relevant stakeholders.
* Prepare the training and awareness materials and support their delivery within the organization.
Qualifications
* Strong background in Business Continuity Management (BCM), ideally within regulated sectors, with a focus on IT/Technology resilience and recovery strategies.
* Solid understanding of BCM standards (ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27031), risk assessment, and business impact analysis.
* Familiarity with crisis management and communication.
* Relevant certifications such as CBCI, CBCP, or ISO 22301 Lead Auditor are an asset, or a strong motivation to pursue them.
* Experience with ServiceNow BCM module or similar business continuity software is a strong plus.
* Excellent communication skills in English, fluent German is a very strong asset.
* Genuine passion for organizational resilience, risk management, IT recovery, and business continuity topics.
* Completed studies in risk management, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
* Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (up to 25%) as required.
