What your day will look like
Mission
As part of the Systems Engineering team, you will take on a dedicated DBA role focused on the operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of our database platforms:
Main Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for the administration, stability, and continuous optimization of Microsoft SQL Server environments, including PostgreSQL platforms used within our customer solutions.
2. Develop a deep understanding of the dependencies between applications and databases to continuously improve performance, stability, and scalability.
3. Collaborate closely with other DBA across different continents to ensure consistent standards, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence.
4. Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of database systems across cloud and co-location environments.
5. Perform routine maintenance including patching, upgrades, backups, recovery testing, and vulnerability remediation.
6. Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, replication, and operational issues.
7. Support software releases and deployments from a database perspective.
8. Implement automation to improve operational efficiency.
9. Work closely with Systems Engineers, DevOps, SRE and application teams to support database-related requirements.
10. Collaborate with IT security and compliance teams to maintain industry-leading security standards.
11. Participate in on-call support, incident resolution, and escalation management.
12. Support database migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
13. Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and operational processes.
What you need to fulfill the role
14. Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments in production.
15. Ability to work effectively in an international and collaborative team environment.
16. Solid SQL and T-SQL knowledge including performance tuning, query optimisation, backup, recovery, replication, and high availability.
17. Experience with modern database infrastructure in cloud and self-managed environments
18. Interest or experience in leveraging Agentic AI and AI-assisted operational technologies for database administration
19. Understanding of database security, access management, monitoring, and operational best practices.
20. Strong communication, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
21. Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn modern technologies and continuously improve processes through automation and standardisation.
22. English speaking.
