Key job responsibilities
•Being a strong team player taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative
•Drive or participate in national and international accounting projects
•Business partnering within the Amazon group
•Develop and manage scalable and automated processes
•International coordination with the global Accounting organization
•Responsibility for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of financial books.
•Assessment and evaluation of GAAP-to-GAAP differences
•Support improvements in accounting processes, internal workflows and implementation of best practices
About the team
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
- Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
- Experience in dealing with and analysing differences across multiple GAAPs (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS, HGB)
- Experience MS Office applications with working knowledge of SQL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
