Our client is a globally active chemical manufacturing company headquartered in Munich, known for its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in industrial solutions. With a strong focus on digital transformation and operational efficiency, the company is expanding its IT capabilities and is looking for a dedicated IT Purchaser to join its procurement team.
Your Responsibilities:
As an IT Purchaser, you will play a key role in ensuring the company's IT infrastructure is supported by reliable, cost-effective, and strategically sourced products and services. Your tasks will include:
* Managing the end-to-end procurement process for IT-related goods and services, including hardware, software, cloud solutions, licenses, and consulting services
* Conducting supplier research, bench marking, and market analysis to identify optimal sourcing strategies
* Leading negotiations with vendors to secure favourable terms, pricing, and service-level agreements
* Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders across IT, Finance, Legal, and Compliance to ensure alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements
* Monitoring contract performance and managing supplier relationships to ensure quality and continuity of service
* Supporting IT project teams by ensuring timely procurement and delivery of required components
* Maintaining accurate procurement records and contributing to budget planning and cost optimisation initiatives
* Ensuring compliance with internal procurement policies and external regulations
Your Profile:
To succeed in this role, you should bring a combination of technical understanding, commercial acumen, and strong communication skills:
* Completed vocational training or university degree in business administration, IT, supply chain management, or a related field
* Several years of professional experience in IT procurement, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* In-depth knowledge of IT products, licensing models, and contract management
* Fluent German language skills (C1 level or higher) are essential; English proficiency is a strong advantage
* Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and proficiency in MS Office tools
* Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams
