The ZIB is the central IT service provider for the Lower Saxony judiciary and is responsible for a modern IT infrastructure with approximately 23,500 clients. In addition, our team of over 400 colleagues manages numerous digitization projects aimed at modernizing the judiciary. To strengthen our team in Department SG3103 – Networks, we are seeking a Network Infrastructure System Administrator (f/m/d) Department 3103 is based in Celle. Your place of work can be flexibly assigned to a Lower Saxony judicial authority near your home. Your responsibilities: As part of a 15-member team, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of the Lower Saxony judiciary’s network infrastructure. The Lower Saxony judiciary relies on network components from various well-known manufacturers. As part of troubleshooting, you will perform and analyze error diagnostics, working with the manufacturer if necessary. Your responsibilities include, in particular: Operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure Operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of central network gateways Management of Internet access Patch and release management for all system components Creation and further development of automated processes / creation of scripts Development and implementation of technical concepts for the infrastructure Collaboration on innovative IT infrastructure projects for the judiciary Visualization and documentation of project and work results What sets you apart: A relevant college degree (e.g., computer science) and at least two years of professional experience, or equivalent skills and experience You have prior experience in network administration and possess strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, TCP/IP, WAN, VLAN, and Wi-Fi networks. You are proficient in analyzing network protocols using various tools. You have a basic understanding of current security technologies, particularly firewalls, and possibly also IDS and IPS systems. Good general knowledge of Linux and MS Windows Server, as well as MS Windows client operating systems, is required. Ideally, you have already gained experience working with one or more of the following vendors: Cisco, Check Point, Alcatel Lucent Enterprise, Extreme Networks, Fortinet. What we also expect: Ability to work in a team, initiative, and a service-oriented mindset German language skills corresponding to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, as well as English language skills typical for the IT sector Willingness to undergo a security clearance check in accordance with Section 7(1) of the Lower Saxony Security Clearance Act (Nds. SÜG) Willingness to undertake occasional business trips within Germany.
