Description Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications across mechanical, electrical, and software domains Conduct detailed invention disclosures with engineers and inventors to extract key innovations Develop strong claim strategies, including independent and dependent claims with appropriate scope and fallback positions Prepare high-quality patent specifications with clear technical descriptions, embodiments, and variations Perform prior art searches and patentability analyses Respond to Office Actions and communicate effectively with patent examiners Collaborate closely with R&D, product, and legal teams to align IP strategy with business objectives Advise on patent portfolio development, including continuation strategies and claim coverage expansion Support freedom-to-operate (FTO) and infringement analyses as needed Skills and Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field Strong understanding of both hardware systems and software architectures Demonstrated experience in patent drafting and prosecution Deep knowledge of claim construction principles and patent specification requirements Ability to understand and articulate complex technical systems across disciplines Familiarity with consumer electronics, automotive, or computing technologies Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
