Your responsibilities:
* As Director of Bioinformatics, lead our Data Analytics team, setting strategic direction and spearheading development of computational methods supporting oncology drug discovery.
* Develop and demonstrate leadership for a team of 11 computational biologists, biomathematicians, physicists, and medicinal chemists, fostering excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
* Identify, shape, and drive initiatives exploring large-scale omics data within oncology to uncover scientific insights.
* Design, develop, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines and workflows, ensuring data analysis standards, data integrity, and reproducibility.
* Apply advanced statistical and AI methods to model biological systems and predict therapeutic outcomes.
* Collaborate with LIMS, IT, and clinical data teams to integrate workflows into research and clinical pipelines.
* Support partnerships with clinics, academic institutions, and pharmaceutical companies to innovate in bioinformatics for oncology.
* Stay updated on developments in bioinformatics and related fields, applying innovative approaches to enhance R&D.
* Communicate complex findings effectively to diverse audiences through presentations, reports, and publications.
* Contribute to strategic planning and execution of R&D goals.
Our requirements:
* Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics, or a related field, with relevant oncology experience.
* 5+ years of leadership experience in oncology bioinformatics or computational biology, preferably in industry.
* Expertise in computational approaches supporting target identification and biomarker discovery.
* Experience analyzing large-scale omics data and using bioinformatics tools and databases.
* Strong background in machine learning, algorithms, and multi-omics data analysis.
* Proficiency in Python, R, or Perl, and bioinformatics platforms.
* Knowledge of statistical and machine learning methods for biological data.
* Understanding of regulatory compliance and validation processes in clinical bioinformatics.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
* Strong communication skills for presenting complex data and concepts.
* Passion for scientific discovery and advancing oncology therapeutics.
