Senior Legal Counsel - Data Protection & Compliance
Location: Frankfurt
Our client is seeking a Legal Counsel specialising in Data Protection and Compliance to strengthen their in-house Legal & Compliance team. In this role, you will help design and enhance internal governance processes, advise stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters, and act as a key link between business, technology, and legal operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and optimise internal data protection and compliance frameworks, including management systems, policies, and procedures.
* Ensure adherence to regulatory and client-specific requirements; support project teams with legal guidance.
* Coordinate with the external Data Protection Officer and contribute to audits and internal training.
* Provide advice on compliance and data protection matters, particularly in relation to customer contracts.
* Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors; serve as the main point of contact for commercial and contract law topics.
Requirements:
* Degree in law (or equivalent) with strong academic results.
* 4 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
* Knowledge of data protection and compliance; relevant certifications are a plus.
* Structured, proactive, and detail-oriented working style.
* Excellent communication skills with fluency in German and English.
