Your mission
We’re hiring a Business Developer to sell new battery cells, modules, and battery packs to b2b customers. You will own the commercial process end-to-end—from prospecting and technical discovery to quotation, negotiation, and long-term account growth—with a focus on high-potential segments such as Energy Storage (ESS), micro-mobility, power tools, portable power/consumer batteries, robotics, and industrial equipment.
This role sits at the intersection of technical product knowledge and consultative B2B sales. You’ll work closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and product teams to turn customer requirements into scalable, profitable deals.
Your profile
What You’ll Do:
1) New Business Development & Pipeline Creation
* Identify target accounts and build a structured outreach strategy across priority segments and geographies.
* Qualify opportunities using clear criteria (e.g., volume, chemistry, form factor, certification requirements, target cost, timeline, decision process).
* Maintain a healthy pipeline and accurate forecasting in CRM.
2) Consultative Selling & Technical Discovery
* Lead customer discovery to define requirements for cells, modules, or packs (capacity, power, C-rate, cycle life, temperature range, size/weight, charging profile, safety).
* Translate application needs into the right product path:
o Cell selection(e.g., cylindrical/prismatic/pouch; LFP/NMC).
o Module design or standard module fit.
o Pack-level considerations (BMS, thermal management, mechanical design, IP rating).
3) Quoting, Negotiation & Closing
* Prepare and manage quotations (pricing, Incoterms, lead times, MOQ, delivery schedules, warranty).
* Coordinate internal stakeholders to answer customer questions on performance, reliability, quality processes, and compliance.
* Negotiate and close supply agreements, including volume commitments, pricing frameworks, and change control.
4) Key Account Management & Growth
* Grow strategic accounts through cross-selling (Circunomics lifecycle solution), multi-program expansion, and long-term agreements.
* Manage commercial topics: demand planning alignment, price adjustments, claim handling support, and customer satisfaction.
* Support product roadmap feedback loops based on customer and market needs.
5) Market & Competitive Intelligence
* Track competitor offerings, pricing benchmarks, and customer buying criteria.
* Provide insights to improve product positioning (safety, energy density, cost, delivery reliability, certifications).
Required Qualifications
* 3–8+ years in B2B business development/sales within batteries, electronics components, e-mobility, energy storage, power tools, or adjacent industrial OEM sales.
* Track record of managing complex, technical sales cycles with procurement + engineering stakeholders.
* Strong commercial skills: pricing, negotiation, contracts, and pipeline management.
* Comfortable working with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, operations, supply chain).
* Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical trade-offs into customer value.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
* Battery product experience: cells (cylindrical/prismatic/pouch), modules, packs, BMS, or thermal design.
* Working experience in B2B wholesale.
* Familiarity with qualification/validation processes (sample stages, pilot runs, PPAP-like workflows).
* Experience with compliance and shipping constraints (e.g., UN 38.3, IEC/UL standards, MSDS, dangerous goods logistics).
* Existing network in ESS, micro-mobility, power tools, or portable power categories.
* Experience with contract manufacturing / ODM / OEM models and volume ramp dynamics.
Why us?
* Flexible working hours & hybrid remote model– we trust you to deliver results, wherever you are.
* Modern office in Mainz (optional) – open spaces, coffee bar, meeting pods.
* Low‑hierarchy, open‑feedback culture– your voice shapes strategy.
* English as the company language– work in an international, multicultural team.
* Competitive salary plus performance-based bonus tied to sourcing volume, quality, and revenue generation.
* Professional development budget– conferences, certifications, language courses.
* Direct impact on the circular battery ecosystem– you will literally help close the loop on used EV batteries.
About Us
Since 2019, Circunomics has been pioneering a circular battery economy. We are the first IoT platform that gives every EV and stationary‑storage battery a digital lifecycle identity, runs real‑time analytics, and intelligently matches used‑battery supply with second‑life energy‑storage demand through our Circular Marketplace.
