Type of Requisition: Regular Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Top Secret/SCI Clearance Level Must Be Able To Obtain: Top Secret/SCI Public Trust/Other Required: None Job Family: Cyber and IT Risk Management Skills: Cyber Defense Information Assurance Information Technology Security Certifications: None Experience: 8+ years of related experience US Citizenship Required: Yes Job Description Cybersecurity Engineer GDIT has an exciting opportunity to support the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U) as a member of our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s (USAREUR-AF) mission in Wiesbaden, Germany. The Cybersecurity Engineer ensures the security posture of SAG-U’s mission and enterprise networks by applying DISA STIGs, mitigating vulnerabilities, and implementing technical cybersecurity controls across all systems. As a member of the J6 Cyber Division (J62), the engineer plays a critical role in preventing cyber incidents, supporting accreditation efforts, and enabling secure mission operations. Meaningful Work and Personal Impact As a Cybersecurity Engineer at GDIT, you will help protect critical military networks and ensure operational continuity by applying cutting‑edge cyber defense tools, maintaining compliance, and guiding system owners on secure practices. How You Will Make an Impact Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to mission systems, servers, and network devices Conduct ACAS vulnerability scans and collaborate with administrators to ensure timely remediation Support RMF control implementation and artifact development Participate in architecture reviews, providing recommendations for secure configuration and boundary defense Review firewall and router configurations, access control lists (ACLs), and network filtering to ensure security compliance Collaborate with Change Management and Operations to ensure secure‑by‑design deployments and patch schedules Design, develop, and recommend integrated security system and physical control solutions that protect proprietary/confidential data and systems Assist IA team in establishing Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes using a risk mitigation framework (RMF) across the design lifecycle for classified systems, obtaining and maintaining Interim Authorization to Test (IATT), Authority to Connect (ATC), and Authorization to Operate (ATO) Provide technical engineering services to support integrated security systems and solutions, managing information‑related risks effectively Work closely with the client during the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into actionable technical designs Develop comprehensive system test plans (STP) to assess the security posture of information systems Analyze scan results and security findings to prioritize remediation efforts and implement corrective measures What You’ll Need to Succeed Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field Experience: 8+ years of related experience Technical Skills: Familiarity with DISA ACAS (Tenable.sc), STIG Viewer, SCAP tools; hands‑on experience with secure baseline development and system hardening; ability to analyze IAVAs, CVEs, and vendor bulletins Clearance: Active DoD TS/SCI clearance Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required Role Requirements: Ability to work closely with system administrators, network engineers, ISSM/ISSO staff; strong knowledge of boundary defense and enclave‑level cybersecurity principles; familiarity with multi‑vendor environments (Cisco, Palo Alto, Microsoft, etc.) Certifications: Required: IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+); Preferred: CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting DoD or Army RMF accreditation efforts; experience as an ISSO, ISSM, ISSE, or Security Controls Assessor; experience with SIEM tools, HBSS, or firewall policy auditing; ability to draft technical documentation for cyber compliance GDIT Is Your Place Growth: AI‑powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunities Support: Internal mobility team focused on helping you achieve your career goals Rewards: Comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, 401(k) with company match, competitive pay and paid time off Community: Award‑winning culture of innovation and a military‑friendly workplace Owner Your Opportunity Explore a career in cyber at GDIT and find endless opportunities to grow alongside colleagues who share your focus on defending and protecting what matters. Compensation Estimated salary range: $106,250 – $143,750. Total compensation varies by location and other factors.
