Your mission
We are looking for a YouTube CMS Specialist (part time, around 30 h per week). This role is either a hybrid-remote position (based in Berlin) or a freelance position (based in Europe) for a mid-level, hands-on specialist who is obsessed with process, efficiency, and the technical details of YouTube's rights management systems. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing music rights and monetization on YouTube, with a focus on Content ID operations, asset management, and revenue generation from user-generated content and you will report to the Team Lead of QA & Delivery and to the COO.
Your responsibilities include:
* Manage the full lifecycle of YouTube Content ID claims, including disputes, appeals, and conflict resolution
* Monitor and resolve asset ownership conflicts across CMS environments
* Ingest and maintain audio and video reference files, ensuring metadata accuracy and compliance
* Evaluate and ensure Content ID eligibility for music assets
* Identify and execute manual claiming opportunities to maximize revenue from UGC
* Conduct regular audits of assets, claims, and references to ensure optimal performance
* Analyze performance data to improve monetization strategies
* Maintain high standards for metadata, audio quality, and delivery specifications
* Collaborate with internal teams to align rights and monetization strategies
* Continuously improve workflows, tools, and automation processes
* Track and report on daily/weekly operational KPIs
* Escalate complex technical or rights issues to Team Lead
* Support cross-team communication
* Document processes and contribute to internal knowledge base
Your profile
Requirements
* Fluent in English with excellent written skills
* Based in Berlin with a German work permit or based in Europe with a registration as freelancer
* Minimum 2 years experience working with YouTube CMS / Content ID
* YouTube certifications (Content Ownership, Asset Monetization)
* Strong understanding of digital rights management (DRM), music licensing, channel monetization/optimization
* Familiarity with YouTube policies, monetization, and copyright workflows
* High attention to detail (critical for rights accuracy)
* Analytical mindset (Excel / data tools)
Nice-to-have
* Experience with metadata standards in music distribution
* Experience at a label, distributor, or rights management company
* Knowledge of publishing rights
* Basic SQL or data analysis skills
