The University of Potsdam is looking to fill the following permanent position at the Center for Information Technology and Media Management (ZIM) as soon as possible: IT System Manager (m/f/d) Ref. no. 33/2026 The working hours are 40 hours per week (100%); the position is classified in pay grade 13 of the TV-Länder pay scale. Your area of responsibility: The ZIM - Center for Information Technology and Media Management - provides the University of Potsdam with IT infrastructure, technical equipment, and media and IT services. In the context of the Brandenburg Research Data Management Initiative (https://fdm-bb.de), it offers shared services for the management, archiving, and publication of research data. Your responsibilities include: Independent and autonomous concept development and implementation of cross-university IT applications (Brandenburg research data services) Design and administration of needs-based infrastructures, as well as consulting and support in second and third level support for research users Collaboration in the joint research data team of the ZIM and the university library and cooperation with the Competence Center for Research Data Management in Brandenburg You have the following qualifications: Completed university degree in computer science or business informatics or in a comparable, relevant field Several years of experience in the operation of web applications Very good knowledge of Linux server operating systems and web servers (Ubuntu Server, Apache HTTP Server, load balancing, reverse proxy) as well as system automation (Ansible, Kubernetes, CI/CD) Good knowledge of operating an OIDC server and JupyterHub Good knowledge of security concepts, data backup procedures, and methods for monitoring IT operations. German language skills at level C1 according to CEFR, English language skills at level B2.
