A global Japanese leading logistics company is seeking a proactive and results-driven Logistics & Warehouse Operations Manager to join the team in Rotterdam. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily operations of the logistics warehouse, ensuring the efficient management of inventory, shipments, and staff. This role is essential in maintaining high service quality and operational efficiency while adhering to safety and compliance standards.
TYPE: Permanent, full-time
WORKING HOURS: 8:30-17:00 (30 minutes lunch break) Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week
SALARY: up to 60K–70K EUR / Gross Salary + Pension Scheme
LOCATION: Rotterdam, the Netherlands (Office based)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Operational Management
oOversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including oEnsure timely and accurate processing of shipments and deliveries.
oOptimize warehouse layout and workflow to maximize productivity and space utilization.
oCoordinate with transportation teams and third-party providers to manage delivery schedules.
•Team Leadership
oLead, train, and manage a team of warehouse staff, including supervisors, forklift drivers, and warehouse operatives.
oMonitor performance, set goals, and provide regular feedback and development support.
oEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations, labor laws, and internal policies.
•Customer & Client Relations
oServe as the main point of contact for clients and key accounts serviced by the branch.
oEnsure high levels of service quality, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
oResolve client escalations quickly and professionally.
•Financial Oversight
oManage branch budgets and operational costs.
oTrack KPIs, including productivity, on-time delivery, accuracy, and cost per unit handled.
oPrepare and submit regular performance and financial reports to HQ or regional offices.
•Compliance & Safety
oEnsure all operations comply with local and EU logistics regulations and safety standards.
oConduct regular audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
oPromote a strong safety culture throughout the warehouse and logistics teams.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in •Deep understanding of warehouse operations, WMS systems, transportation, and inventory control.
•Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
•Knowledge of EU transport and safety regulations.
•Proficient in warehouse management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) and MS Office Suite.
•Native-level Dutch
•Fluent in English
