As a Group Controller (m/f/d), the role is responsible for ensuring a robust understanding of financial planning, analysis, and reporting across the BayWa r.e. AG Headquarter. Acting as a key Business Partner within the BayWa r.e. Group, this position involves close collaboration with stakeholders at all levels and across various Corporate Functions. It combines Headquarter-focused duties with global responsibilities, offering a diverse mix of recurring and ad hoc tasks. Embedded in a dynamic and motivated team, the role plays an active part in shaping the Controlling function.
What you will do
• You conduct financial analysis, formulate recommendations, provide insights to Corporate Functions, and contribute to the overall performance management and reporting process
• You lead analyses, prepare reports and presentations for the Management Board, oversee forecasting and planning processes for Corporate Functions, and manage month-end reporting for the BayWa r.e. AG Headquarter
• You enhance cost transparency and effectiveness measurement while establishing standardised cost centers and cost categories across the BayWa r.e. Group
• You test impairments of investments and loans for the BayWa r.e. AG Headquarter and support the preparation of annual financial statements (HGB) for the BayWa r.e. AG Headquarter
• You provide input for global decision-making and policies while continuously improving processes and systems, including SAP S/4Hana, SAP FC, Tagetik, and Workday
• You optimise processes, documentation, and structures while contributing to the Controlling transformation journey
What you’ll need to succeed
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Over 5 years of post-qualification experience in a senior Controlling or FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) role or similar
• Expertise in integrated financial planning (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet) and adeptness in working with ERP, BI, and large datasets
• Proven ability to implement and monitor internal controls, with robust reporting skills and advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Tagetik; modelling skills are a key advantage
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, effective project management skills, and flexibility to take on new responsibilities
• Fluent in both German and English
