We’re seeking an entrepreneurial and hands-on Head of Software Engineering to lead the technical vision, team, and execution of our client's venture studio. — This is a unique opportunity to build and scale an engineering organisation at the forefront of AI, product experimentation, and disruptive technologies.

Responsible for:
Hands-on and entrepreneurial tech leader to drive AI-first tech vision, strategy and execution of a world-class startup foundry to build and scale multiple AI-first category-defining startups
Hire, mentor, and allocate top-tier engineers, tech leads, and venture leaders to deliver high-quality products quickly and efficiently, while building empowered, engaged, and mission-driven tech teams for each venture.
Nurture a culture of bias for action, speed of execution, extreme ownership, rapid experimentation, learning and innovation, bold thinking with humility
Drive an AI-first engineering culture and strategy to dramatically increase the productivity leverage per engineer, build capital-efficient startups and achieve outcomes that were impossible before AI.
Define the common engineering best practices/processes, choice of AI/tech frameworks, workflows, tech stack, cloud, and data and AI architecture for all new ventures. Includes building reusable components (e.g. auth, billing) to reduce time to validation and market
Continuously reduce the time to validation, time to acceleration and time to kill by partnering with the product on our playbook and building a self-learning venture engine that compounds knowledge over time
Partner with labs leadership and founders on investment thesis, roadmaps, and resource planning.
Own technical due diligence, code reviews, and compliance before external fundraising or onboarding co-build founders
Experience:
~10+ years of experience building and scaling early-stage startups.
~ Proven experience building -1 to 0 to 1 MVPs, ideally across multiple domains.
~ Strong hands-on skills with modern tech, data and AI stacks
~ Experience building and leading high-performance engineering teams and working with cross-functional teams.
~ Clear, fast communicator with a bias for action.
~ Startup DNA: scrappy, curious, and results-driven
