About the Team
Join a cutting-edge VLSI R&D team working on advanced semiconductor design for next-generation applications in automation and high-performance systems within the automotive industry. The team operates in a start-up environment within a global organization — combining agility, ownership, and innovation with the stability of an established company.
The Opportunity
As a Physical Design CAD Lead, you will play a key role in developing and executing methodologies and flows that take complex subsystems from definition all the way to tape-out. This position blends deep technical expertise with leadership and mentoring responsibilities, giving you the chance to shape backend flows, guide a team, and deliver world-class silicon.
What You'll Do
* Lead & Innovate: Develop and own backend flows across synthesis, place & route, and signoff.
* Plan & Execute: Manage flow releases, track progress, and coordinate development tasks.
* Optimize PPA & Efficiency: Explore methodologies to improve Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) as well as turnaround time.
* Evaluate & Implement: Assess new tools and technologies, driving measurable ROI.
* Mentor & Guide: Provide technical leadership, coaching, and best-practice sharing across the team.
What We're Looking For
* BSc or MSc in Electrical/Computer Engineering (or related).
* 8+ years of experience in backend physical design.
* Hands-on expertise across the RTL → Tape-Out flow (synthesis, floorplanning, PnR, CTS, STA, EM/IR, chip integration).
* Strong background in flow development, tuning, and signoff closure.
* Proficiency in scripting languages (Tcl, Python, Perl, TCSH) and version control systems.
* Experience leading backend activities and mentoring engineers.
* Knowledge of advanced nodes (5nm and below) is a strong advantage.
* Excellent communicator with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
Why You'll Love It Here
* Shape the methodologies and flows powering tomorrow's semiconductor innovations.
* Work in a fast-moving, hands-on environment where ownership and impact are valued.
* Join a team that values technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Be part of a mission to push the boundaries of what's possible in chip design.
