UX & UI Designer (Part-Time, min. 3 days/week)
Location: Berlin or remote (CET ±2h)

Salary: €3,800–4,500/month (based on full-time equivalent, adjusted to workload and experience)
About Ponder
Ponder is a small, values-driven strategy, research and design studio based in Berlin. We collaborate with organisations that care about the future – from political movements to public institutions to progressive companies. Our focus is on strategy-driven UX and UI design with a strong foundation in research and system thinking.
We work on digital products that matter, shaping information, interfaces and identities for tools that support social change. We care about accessibility, sustainability and ethical design.
What you’ll do
As a designer, you'll contribute to a wide range of projects – sometimes fast-paced, sometimes slow and thorough. You’ll mostly work on:
* UX and UI design for digital products (websites, platforms, tools)
* Developing and maintaining design systems
* Translating research into design decisions
* Creating wireframes, flows, prototypes and visual designs
* Collaborating closely with developers, clients and editors
* Supporting user research (interviews, testing, analytics)
* Designing for accessibility, clarity and inclusivity
* Occasionally: helping us shape our own visual identity and social media output
You’ll be part of a small studio with direct access to our co-founders, and room to help shape how we work.
Who we’re looking for
You’re a hands-on designer with a strong sense for both structure and aesthetics. You’ve worked on UX and UI projects before, ideally in a small team. You’re curious, collaborative, and care about doing things properly.
We’d love it if you:
* Have 3–5 years of experience in UX and UI design
* Think in systems and bring strong conceptual skills
* Know how to design in Figma with clarity and purpose
* Are confident presenting your work to clients
* Have experience collaborating with developers
* Understand accessibility and care about ethical design
* Are based in Berlin – or at least within a CET ±2h time zone
Nice to have:
* Basic coding skills or dev literacy
* Experience with brand and design language development
* Ability to guide or mentor junior designers
* German is a big plus for many of our clients
