About the Job
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Aftersales Manager to lead our service and parts operations. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maximizing workshop utilization, driving parts sales, ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction, and achieving financial targets for the aftersales department. You will bridge the gap between the sales team and the workshop, ensuring a seamless experience for our B2B clients.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
* Oversee daily operations of the service workshop, body shop, and parts warehouse.
* Manage workshop capacity planning, technician scheduling, and workflow efficiency to minimize vehicle downtime for customers.
* Ensure all work complies with manufacturer standards, safety regulations, and German TÜV requirements.
Financial Management:
* Achieve aftersales revenue and profitability targets (KPIs: labor sales, parts margin, warranty recovery).
* Prepare budgets, control costs, and analyze financial reports to identify growth opportunities.
* Manage warranty claims processing with manufacturers to ensure maximum recovery.
Customer Relationship Management:
* Act as the main point of contact for key fleet customers regarding service issues, maintenance contracts, and repair planning.
* Proactively contact customers to schedule maintenance and address potential issues.
* Resolve customer complaints swiftly and professionally.
Team Management:
* Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of service advisors, master technicians, and parts specialists.
* Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs (e.g., high-voltage systems, new truck models).
Parts & Inventory:
* Oversee parts inventory levels to ensure high availability while minimizing carrying costs.
* Coordinate with the parts manager to optimize stock based on the local fleet population.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in aftersales management within the automotive or commercial vehicle industry. Dealership experience is highly preferred.
* Industry Knowledge:
Strong technical understanding of commercial vehicle systems. Knowledge of workshop processes and warranty procedures.
* Language Skills:
Native or business-fluent German (C1/C2) is mandatory. Professional English is a plus.
* Software:
Proficient in dealer management systems (DMS) – experience with [e.g., ADP, Dextra, SAP] is a strong advantage. Proficient in MS Office.
* Soft Skills:
Strong leadership abilities, customer-centric mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a hands-on mentality.
* Certification:
"Kfz-Meister" (Master Craftsman) or "Techniker" (Technician) degree is highly desirable, or a Betriebswirt with relevant experience.
* License:
Valid EU driving license.
Required Skills
* Proven leadership in aftersales or service management (Automotive/Commercial Vehicles required).
* Fluent German (mandatory); English is a plus.
* Deep understanding of workshop processes, parts logistics, and customer service in a B2B environment.
* "Kfz-Meister" or "Techniker" preferred, or equivalent managerial experience.
* You are a problem-solver who leads by example and keeps calm under pressure.
Preferred Skills
* Experience as a Service Advisor or Workshop Manager in the Vehicle sector.
* Strong commercial acumen combined with technical knowledge.
* A network within the regional logistics and transportation industry.
