To support financial steering across the EMEA region, Varian is seeking a (Senior) Financial Analyst Business Performance Controlling. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing key performance indicators, developing optimization concepts, and aligning these with Varian headquarters as well as regional decision-makers. Your work will provide the foundation for structured, fact-based decision-making. In doing so, you will play a central role in shaping both the operational and strategic financial management of the organization. Your tasks and responsibilities: You work closely with the Head of EMEA Business Performance Controlling and the Regional Finance Directors and independently prepare financial analyses and reports. You conduct zone-specific variance analyses and forecasts, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver actionable insights to the Regional Management Team and the Regional Finance Directors. You are responsible for introducing a framework for sustainable productivity controlling within the Varian EMEA organization—including training activities, collaboration with Sales and other cross-functional teams, as well as the implementation of standardized reporting—and subsequently manage this framework independently. You actively contribute to the execution of special projects within the EMEA region. You promote knowledge sharing within the Varian EMEA and Varian Finance community. You carry out ad-hoc analyses and prepare meaningful reports. Your qualifications and experience: You hold a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a comparable field. You bring several years of relevant experience in Business Performance Controlling or related controlling functions, including productivity controlling and reporting. You have strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and conducting variance analyses. You are able to present complex financial matters clearly and appropriately for management stakeholders and colleagues. You have experience in developing, monitoring, and analyzing KPIs as well as preparing decision-relevant performance reports. You possess strong knowledge of the balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow, as well as relevant accounting standards (IFRS, HGB). You are proficient in MS Excel and have experience with ERP and BI systems such as SAP, Oracle, Power BI, or Jedox. You demonstrate high initiative, a structured and reliable working style, flexibility in an international environment, and strong teamwork, communication, and accountability skills. You are fluent in English and feel comfortable working in an international environment; additional language skills are an advantage.
