The Role
Our Bakery Barista is an advocate and ambassador of service excellence, that understands the critical role that exceeding and maintaining service expectations plays in the success of the Bakery + Cafe & Bar operations at Fotografiksa. Our Barista represent's service excellence by providing prompt and knowledgable, kind and humble hospitality, alongside warmth and grace in every interaction with our Members and Guests. Reporting into the Cafe & Bar Manager, the role entails all aspects of the Bakery service operations, and represents Fotografiska with hospitality and generosity in every interaction.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a barista in a high-volume café or hospitality setting.
* Knowledge of specialty coffee (grind size, extraction, milk steaming, latte art basics).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a guest-first mindset.
* Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with a proactive work attitude.
* Team player who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
* Basic German and English required; additional languages are a plus.
* Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and serve a range of coffee and tea beverages to the highest standard, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
* Operate coffee machines and grinders with skill and consistency; dial in daily and maintain optimal espresso extraction.
* Provide warm, friendly, and professional service to all guests, embodying Fotografiska's hospitality values.
* Support daily café operations, including opening/closing duties, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, and restocking.
* Work collaboratively with kitchen and floor teams to ensure smooth service flow.
* Maintain knowledge of the menu, including seasonal offerings, ingredients, and potential allergens.
* Monitor product quality and provide feedback to the Café Manager or Head Barista as needed.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and occupational health standards.
