ABOUT THE ROLE As a Working Student – Compliance & Transaction Monitoring (m/f/d), you’ll sit at the intersection of fintech, data, and operational risk management. You’ll work on high-impact tasks in client onboarding, risk profiling, and transaction surveillance — while leveraging data-driven applications, Python, and AI tools to enhance efficiency and insight. You’ll collaborate closely with our Compliance, Risk, Product, and Engineering teams, gaining hands-on experience in one of Europe’s fastest-scaling fintechs. WHAT YOU’LL DO Onboarding, Risk & Transaction Surveillance Verify corporate clients (KYB), identifying legal representatives and beneficial owners through global databases and registries. Assess customer risk profiles using structured data, defined frameworks, and regulatory guidelines. Review AML alerts from monitoring systems, flag anomalies, and escalate potential cases to senior specialists. Analyze transaction patterns to detect suspicious behaviors or potential financial crime indicators. Prepare and maintain accurate digital credit files in compliance with internal policies. Contribute to the refinement of detection rules to reduce false positives and improve monitoring effectiveness. Data & Technology Integration Work with data-driven applications to support decision-making in compliance and monitoring. Use Python for data analysis, workflow automation, and reporting. Develop and maintain local LLM-based applications. Apply prompt engineering to accelerate research, document drafting, and case analysis. Process Innovation Collaborate with Product and Engineering to improve tools, workflows, and system logic. Suggest automation opportunities and AI-driven enhancements. WHAT YOU’LL BRING Currently enrolled in a top-tier university program (business, finance, economics, computer science, data science, or related). Proven academic excellence (top grades, scholarships, competitions, or other merit-based achievements). Strong interest in fintech, banking, and financial technology innovation. Basic understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks, or a strong motivation to quickly gain expertise in these areas. Demonstrated experience with data (analysis, visualization, or modelling) and data-driven applications. Proficiency in Python for analysis or automation. Familiarity with prompt engineering and LLMs for applied problem-solving. Exceptional attention to detail, structured thinking, and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment. Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.
