This position is part of the Cepheid Infectious Disease Medical and Scientific Affairs group and will be located remotely in Germany.
Responsibilities
* Participate in scientific meetings to engage senior KOLs, healthcare providers, and customers.
* Demonstrate conceptual and practical expertise in infectious disease, clinical microbiology, and related disciplines.
* Serve as a resource to the medical/scientific community, including emergency and infectious disease clinicians, OB/GYNs, laboratory personnel, infection control, pharmacists, and researchers.
* Develop and maintain a working understanding of the global health environment relevant to diagnostic needs.
* Establish and maintain a broad network of contacts within relevant stakeholder communities.
* Engage and collaborate with researchers on independent studies to generate new evidence that drives applications and expands the footprint of Cepheid products.
* Work independently on most complex problems while receiving guidance when needed.
* Apply expertise in molecular diagnostics to maintain knowledge of clinical practice guidelines and emerging healthcare trends.
* Identify research gaps, support sponsored clinical trials, investigator‑initiated research, advisory boards, and focus groups to assist marketing in product pipeline requirements.
* Communicate insights from the medical/scientific community about unmet clinical or diagnostic needs and provide scientific expertise on product design, development, and implementation.
Essential Requirements
* Medical Degree (MD) with specialization in infectious diseases, microbiology, or infection prevention and control; 8+ years of related experience. Generalists with sufficient infectious disease familiarity may be considered.
* Strong scientific writing, successful publication record, and excellent communication skills with national/international speaking experience.
* Proven success presenting medical/technical information concisely to diverse scientific and clinical audiences, backed by strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
* Fluency in German and excellent English communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to travel (60% regional and some international travel required).
Preferred Additional Experience
* At least 3 years of Medical and Scientific Affairs experience.
* Experience coordinating and managing diagnostics studies in infectious diseases in Germany.
* Clinical trials management to achieve timely completion of project deliverables.
* Biostatistics experience.
* Regulatory familiarity for managing on‑market diagnostics.
