Our Client, a global manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager .
Your role is to lead end-to-end quality strategy for the products, covering cloud services, backend APIs, management software, embedded controllers, operating systems and hardware (PCBAs, displays, keyboards etc.).
You will own quality processes across multiple hardware platforms, vendors and real-world environments, ensuring consistent, reliable, customer-ready releases.
It demands strong technical leadership in QA, deep systems knowledge across software and hardware and the ability to elevate quality standards across engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Focus:
* End-to-end Quality Strategy Development
You will define the overarching quality assurance (QA) processes, spanning from early-stage design reviews to final product validation. QA strategy for cloud-based management platforms, backend microservices, embedded software, OS layers and hardware. You will define quality standards, test methodologies and quality gates used across engineering deliverables and drive predictable high-quality releases with clear entry/exit criteria, risk analysis and release-readiness checkpoints. This involves creating a "production-like" test environment to validate the entire workflow, mirroring real-world user interactions.
* Systems Integration & Hardware-Software Alignment
You will oversee quality for complex systems, ensuring seamless integration between hardware components, embedded systems, OS and cloud APIs. This requires deep systems knowledge to handle dependencies across multiple hardware platforms and vendors.
* Process Engineering & Optimization
You will establish rigorous processes and best practices for testing, ensuring consistent standards are followed across engineering teams. This includes moving from reactive bug-finding to proactive quality prevention.
* Automation & Tools Strategy
Build and scale automation frameworks across API, UI, embedded and system-level validation layers. Lead integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred). Promote “automation-first” practices to reduce regression cycles and increase coverage across hardware and software. You will drive the adoption of automation for critical user paths, enabling continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) of both software and firmware.
* End-to-End System Validation
Oversee E2E validation spanning management software, data feeds, embedded software and hardware. Ensure compatibility across multiple hardware SKUs, partner devices and third-party components. Establish robust regression, integration and configuration-matrix testing to safeguard core system functionality. Drive customer-scenario testing that reflects real operations (GPS-driven content, schedule feeds, network variability, environmental conditions). Lead cross-functional root-cause investigations for field issues, ensuring rapid and durable corrective actions.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product Management, Engineering and Customer Success to define acceptance criteria, validation strategies and quality KPIs. Collaborate with hardware, embedded and software teams on defect triage, prioritization and solution verification.
* Continuous Improvement & Reporting
Establish and track KPIs such as defect density, automation coverage, field issue recurrence and regression cycle time. Provide clear visibility into quality trends, defect metrics, automation coverage and release readiness. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across QA methodology, tooling and documentation. Maintain clear test documentation, defect reports, metrics and QA process artifacts.
* Technical Leadership & Mentorship
You will elevate quality standards by leading technical design discussions, providing architectural guidance and mentoring QA team members in advanced testing methodologies.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
* 10+ years of QA experience across software, embedded systems and hardware
* 3+ years leading QA teams
* System-level and integration testing for multi-tier systems (cloud, backend, embedded, hardware)
* Network protocols relevant to transit/PIS environments (TCP/IP, UDP, VPNs, firewalls)
* Automation frameworks and scripting (Python, JavaScript or similar)
* Linux-based embedded environments and hardware-software interoperability
* CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
* Deep System-Level Knowledge. Strong experience in both software (cloud, API) and hardware (embedded, OS) is essential, with familiarity in AI/IoT-driven quality control in manufacturing.
* Advanced QA Leadership. Proven experience in managing complex QA teams, creating test strategies and implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) or similar agile methodologies.
* Vendor & Ecosystem Management. Experience working with third-party vendors and managing quality across multi-platform and global projects.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration. Ability to act as a bridge between engineering, product and manufacturing teams, translating technical issues into business risks.

* Experience working with GPS, GTFS or other real-time transit data feeds
* Experience using AI based automation tools to accelerate automation coverage
* Experience building regression test platforms covering a large number of hardware SKUs
