Montel EnAppSys is seeking an experienced Market Expert for the German Short-Term Power Market.
We are looking for an analytical professional with a commercial mindset and a deep understanding of the German day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets. If you have worked in a trading or asset-optimisation environment and enjoy explaining complex market mechanisms, this may be the ideal role for you.
In this position, you will act as the human link between our analytical platform and our customers. You will understand how the German power market operates, how our tools can support trading and optimisation decisions, and how to identify and explain potential risks and opportunities.
You will also play a crucial role in improving our products, models, and data visualisations, ensuring that they match customer needs and reflect market realities.

What You Will Do
Develop the Montel Brand
* Provide expert commentary on the German short-term market through articles, white papers, webinars, and events.
* Engage with social media and Montel journalists, offering credible insights and market commentary.
* Support sales and marketing teams with technical demonstrations, Q&A sessions, and targeted campaigns.
* Build professional visibility and audience engagement through social-media activity and event participation.
Develop Product
* Work closely with product and analytics teams to refine short-term market models, visualisations, and data quality.
* Identify new analytical opportunities and propose improvements to enhance customer value.
* Test and validate analytical tools, ensuring alignment between market behaviour and platform output.
Develop People
* Contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing across teams.
* Provide subject-matter expertise to advisory and consultancy activities.
* Support internal communication by explaining market changes and their implications for customers and systems.
Develop Look & Feel & Usability
* Collaborate with software and design teams to improve data presentation, user experience, and visual clarity.
* Recommend interface and functional enhancements based on market understanding and user feedback.
Contribute to the Montel Market Expert Group
* Log and analyse key German market events and price drivers.
* Discuss trends with colleagues, align communication, and develop common market views.
* Share insights across teams to strengthen collective market understanding.
What You Bring
* Degree in economics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline.
* More than five years of experience in the German or European power sector, preferably within a trading, optimisation, or market-analysis function.
* Strong knowledge of EPEX SPOT, EEX, ENTSO-E, and short-term market operations.
* Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex subjects.
* Fluency in German and English (spoken and written).
* A proactive, commercially aware mindset and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
* Confidence in using social media and communicating publicly about market developments.
* Willingness to travel within Europe for events, meetings, and customer engagement.
