Solution Architect (m/f/d) – Hamburg
THE CHALLENGE
We are modernizing a medical device software platform, transitioning from a legacy C# framework to a modern, containerized, server-based web architecture.
Multiple Scrum teams, multiple Tech Leads, continuous delivery.
THE ROLE
You won’t write production code or design low-level components. Instead, you ensure the entire product succeeds technically at scale.
YOUR IMPACT
Set the strategic technical direction
1. Own the target architecture and modernization roadmap
2. Define decomposition strategy, rebuild vs. refactor, stability during migration
Enable Tech Leads
3. Align architectural decisions across teams
4. Act as escalation point and facilitator
5. Provide context, constraints, and strategic guardrails
Bridge business and technology
6. Translate product roadmap into technical enablers
7. Surface constraints early and support prioritization
8. Bring clarity to architectural dependencies
Represent the product technically
9. Participate in the DHS Architecture Board
10. Communicate architectural decisions to leadership
11. Ensure sustainable modernization and regulatory compliance
WHAT YOU’LL DO
12. Own solution architecture and modernization strategy
13. Drive platform-level, cross-team architectural decisions
14. Maintain ADRs and lead threat modeling
15. Support regulatory and cybersecurity requirements
TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT
16. Kubernetes, Docker
17. C# / .NET, Blazor, MAUI
18. MSSQL
19. Using C4 model, clean architecture, transition architectures, DevSecOps
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORMust-haves:
20. Degree in CS, engineering, or similar
21. Proven experience in strategic technical leadership across multiple teams
22. Strong background in scalable systems, integration, DevSecOps
23. Experience with large-scale modernization
24. Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Nice-to-have:
25. Experience in regulated environments (MDR, FDA, GDPR)
26. Background in medical device software
