The role
Join our team as the EMEA Category Manager, driving the strategic direction and achievement of targets for the product group across all locations. In this role, you will optimize the supplier portfolio through selection and development, lead cost reduction initiatives, negotiate contracts, and align cross-functional purchasing activities with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the category team in implementing strategic tasks and initiatives.
2. Plan, develop, and execute measures to optimize commodities, including supplier classification (supplier pyramid).
3. Develop, coordinate, and present procurement strategies to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
4. Conduct contract and price negotiations; define global conditions in alignment with the chief negotiator.
5. Monitor and benchmark global procurement and commodity markets, competitors, and indices.
6. Facilitate cross-functional exchange of product group-specific information (e.g., CS JourFix).
7. Provide supplier long lists within the Source-to-Contract (S2C) process.
8. Manage RFI and RFQ processes in coordination with the chief negotiator (e.g., PKO & dual source).
9. Collaborate closely with project purchasing for new developments and partner selection.
10. Perform cost analyses to optimize costs with existing suppliers in coordination with series purchasers or negotiators.
11. Support SQ&D activities in alignment with negotiators.
12. Participate in supplier audits and risk management (e.g., supply chain screening).
13. Assume global responsibility for the product group and associated targets, including performance tracking.
Profile
14. Requires advanced to expert knowledge obtained through advanced education, combined with experience.
15. Substantial knowledge of the organization, programs, or systems of the company to make enhancements within the job area.
16. University degree or equivalent. A minimum of 7 years prior relevant experience OR an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of
experience.
