Postdoctoral Researcher in Molecular Biology Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating and maintaining human iPSC lines, differentiating them into neurons and astrocytes, and designing and executing assays of intermediary metabolism.
Key Responsibilities:
* Generate and maintain high-quality human iPSC lines and differentiate them into neurons and astrocytes.
* Design and execute experiments on intermediary metabolism using LC/GC methods and 13C tracing.
* Assess mitochondrial/cellular function using advanced imaging and molecular biology techniques, including RNA-seq workflows.
* Develop and apply ODE models of mitochondrial metabolism and astrocyte-neuron coupling to interpret experimental data and propose testable predictions.
* Integrate multi-omics and imaging readouts with modeling, perform rigorous statistical analysis, and ensure reproducible workflows.
* Report and disseminate research findings through publications, conference presentations, and other channels.
Requirements:
* PhD in Life Sciences/Neurosciences/Molecular Biology (or related field) with strong wet-lab experience and a focus on neurodegeneration.
* Hands-on expertise with human iPSCs, differentiation to neuronal and glial lineages, molecular biology, and imaging skills.
* Working knowledge of intermediary metabolism, 13C isotope-assisted metabolomics, and RNA-seq techniques.
* Ability to formulate and implement ODE models for biological systems and analyze data using Python, MATLAB, or R.
* Proactive, collaborative communicator with sound statistics, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to research integrity and open science practices.
