Overview
We are looking for an experienced Offshore Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of offshore construction support services for a major offshore project. This shore-based role is critical for ensuring that construction activities are performed in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner, contributing to the overall success of the project.
As the Offshore Construction Manager, you will be accountable for health, safety, environmental compliance, site performance, and the delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs). You will lead a shore support team and collaborate closely with various project stakeholders, including the installation, commissioning, and QHSE teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Management: Lead the Offshore Construction Management team, ensuring close collaboration with the Project Construction Manager and alignment with the latest project organization chart.
* Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between onshore and offshore teams, providing shore-based support to the installation and commissioning teams as required.
* Emergency Response: Assume emergency response duties in line with project documentation.
* Offshore Activity Coordination: Manage the Offshore Installation Coordinators, ensuring that all offshore activities are properly planned, coordinated, and executed.
* Marine Coordination: Oversee marine coordination services and the operation of the site office, including the management of subcontractors working on-site.
* Progress Monitoring: Track, report, and forecast progress on all construction activities, services, and equipment both onshore and offshore.
* Reporting: Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and support with additional reporting as requested by the Project Construction Manager.
* Resource Planning: Develop resource plans for the execution team and assist with scheduling and coordinating contractors to avoid conflicts and optimize workflow.
* Safety and Compliance: Organize safety meetings, toolbox talks, and campaigns. Work closely with the QHSE team to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Key Requirements
* Experience: At least 5 years of experience in construction site management, with a preference for offshore experience.
* Construction Expertise: Proven experience in managing construction activities, specifically in offshore environments, with a strong understanding of the construction and commissioning process.
* Safety Leadership: Documented experience in a safety leadership role, with a focus on health, safety, and environmental (HSEQ) management.
* Marine Operations Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of marine operations related to the development, construction, and operations of offshore wind projects.
* Project Management Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple contractors and sub-contractors and deliver against project timelines and KPIs.
* Compliance and Risk Management: A solid understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and environmental processes.
Preferred Qualifications
* Offshore survival and safety training certificates.
* Experience with project scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting.
* Knowledge of quality assurance processes and environmental management systems.
