You will lead health, safety, and environmental performance across manufacturing and project activities. You protect people, assets, and business continuity. You act as the local authority for HSE topics. You advise leadership and enforce standards on site.
Responsibilities
• Lead site HSE management systems in line with corporate and legal requirements
• Ensure compliance with German HSE legislation. ArbSchG. BetrSichV. GefStoffV. DGUV
• Drive risk assessments. Method statements. Permit to work processes
• Oversee contractor and external company management on site
• Enforce Stop-Work-Authority during unsafe conditions
• Lead incident investigations. Root cause analysis. Corrective actions
• Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks for employees and contractors
• Support audits and inspections. Internal. Corporate. Authority led
• Report HSE performance to site and regional leadership
• Support CAPEX projects. New lines. Modifications. Shutdowns
• Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership
Required Skills and Experience
• Minimum 7 years' experience in HSE roles within pharmaceutical, chemical, FMCG, or regulated manufacturing environments
• Proven experience as HSE Manager or Senior HSE professional on an operational site
• Strong contractor management experience
• Experience working in GMP-regulated environments
• Track record of enforcing safety standards under operational pressure
Required Qualifications
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field
• Recognized HSE qualification. NEBOSH. IOSH. German equivalent
• Strong working knowledge of German HSE law
• Auditor qualification for ISO 45001 preferred
