From synthesis to series production: Your chemistry is transforming diagnostics. Are you passionate about modern oligonucleotide chemistry, able to maintain an overview even in complex, multi-step syntheses, and enjoy thinking outside the box? Then become part of our global R&D team! With us, you'll work at the cutting edge of preparative organic chemistry.
Here's what we offer
1. Attractive salary and long-term job security through affiliation with a large corporation.
2. Up to 30 days of vacation per year
3. Company pension scheme contribution after the end of the probationary period
4. Extensive social benefits, including Christmas and holiday pay
5. Reimbursement of travel expenses
6. Usually an open-ended employment contract
7. Good opportunities for acquisition with our business partners
Your tasks
8. Independently carries out productions using established synthesis processes
9. Within R&D projects, plans organic syntheses of complex molecular structures, particularly in the field of nucleic acid chemistry and oligonucleotide chemistry, and carries these out in the laboratory including isolation, purification (especially RP-HPLC and IEX) and characterization for preparation for test development.
10. In doing so, it observes and implements internal and external requirements, including those relating to laboratory work and the processes and products to be developed for transfer into production in the course of commercialization projects, with regard to manufacturability, sustainability, occupational safety, health protection, environmental protection, labor law, confidentiality, quality assurance and quality management.
11. Documents and interprets the generated R&D results and presents them to the relevant internal committees; supports the creation of product development documents and specification documents (e.g., SOPs, manufacturing instructions, safety data sheets) as well as potential publications or patent applications.
12. Independently develops new solutions outside of known approaches and supports the development of new concepts and ideas.
13. Monitors the field of modern, preparative organic chemistry, as well as nucleic acid chemistry, particularly in the context of diagnostic applications, through contacts with external and internal experts, literature and patent studies, and, if necessary, attendance at conferences, and presents the state of the art in relevant committees.
14. Ensures collaboration and close networking in global project teams and with external partners within the framework of R&D projects based on agreed-upon arrangements and builds a network of knowledge holders.
15. Represents the team lead at project meetings if necessary and supports the team lead in project management tasks as well as in the professional supervision of employees; may also take on general tasks in the department, such as the maintenance and repair of equipment.
Your profile
16. Studies in organic chemistry, culminating in a doctorate in the field of organic chemistry.
17. Ideally, an expert with experience in purification of (oligo)nucleotides by IEX and RP-HPLC.
18. simultaneously with good knowledge of nucleic acid chemistry, excellent chemical knowledge, basic knowledge of biochemistry
19. Very good German and good English skills
20. Good knowledge of occupational safety, environmental protection and quality management
21. Good teamwork to find the best solutions, as well as very good communication and mentoring skills.
