Full Professorship (W3) in Mathematical Statistics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Sciences seeks to fill this position by October 1, 2027.

We are looking for a scientist who has an outstanding track record in the field of mathematical statistics with a focus on the statistical analysis of stochastic processes and the mathematical foundations of data science and related disciplines.
The duties include competently representing the field in research and teaching, as well as appropriately contributing to the general teaching tasks of the department in the existing degree programs in Mathematics and Financial Mathematics of the department, as well as in the planned “Mathematical Data Science” degree program. Committed cooperation with other working groups within the department and with other areas of the university is expected. In addition, a willingness to actively participate in the design and further development of the curriculum and to participate in cooperative research projects is required.
