DevOps Engineer We operate a complex on-premises software solution and are gradually migrating it to the Microsoft Azure cloud. To do this, we need a clearly scalable, secure, and automated foundation—and someone who doesn’t just “maintain the infrastructure,” but actively contributes to its development, drives things forward pragmatically, and explores new paths alongside us. Kanzlei.Suite GmbH, a subsidiary of lngentis, offers specialized software solutions for the management of tax consulting firms. Its products automate and optimize processes such as capacity planning, controlling, and time tracking. Through seamless integration with existing systems such as DATEV, Kanzlei.Suite GmbH significantly increases efficiency and productivity in tax consulting work environments. Your Responsibilities Analysis & Target Vision: Assessment of the existing on-premises architecture and derivation of a cloud-ready target architecture (hybrid / phased migration, including modernization options). Cloud Foundation / Landing Zone: Design and implementation of a modern Azure infrastructure (network, identity, governance, security baseline, environment structure). Services & Platform Decisions: Independent selection, implementation, and further development of suitable Azure services (including make/buy considerations) with a focus on scalability and maintainability. Automation: Introduction and operation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) as well as standardization via reusable modules/patterns. CI/CD & Delivery: Setup and operation of CI/CD pipelines for build, test, release/deployment (including quality assurance and automation). Containers & Runtime: Containerization/orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes/AKS – depending on the target architecture) and operational concepts. Observability & Operations: Implementation of monitoring, logging, alerting, backup/restore, as well as stability and performance improvements (including pragmatic incident/problem handling). Your Profile Several years of experience as a DevOps Engineer / Cloud Engineer / Platform Engineer in production environments. Very good knowledge of Microsoft Azure (architecture, core services, networking, security/IAM, governance). Experience with hybrid scenarios (on-prem ↔ cloud) and phased migrations/transitions. Practical experience with CI/CD (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar), including build/test automation. Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform or Bicep/ARM—it’s important that you truly embrace IaC). Container expertise: Docker, ideally Kubernetes (or a strong motivation to quickly become proficient in it). Proficiency with Linux as well as scripting/automation (Bash, PowerShell, or similar).
